Facebook Reality Labs
VR & AR Technologies
Concept
Facebook Reality Labs is the department in charge of everything VR/AR, including Oculus and Aria. My role was to create graphics assets for use in their virtual conference, for marketing purposes, and to maintain internal brand assets. While there were many tasks as a part of this role, I have selected a few main/notable ones for the purpose of brevity.
Tasks
-
Ensure visual assets stay within brand guidelines and are created per timeline
-
Collaborate with team members and maintain communication for smooth project progression
-
Edit internal Wiki pages for accuracy per content and design updates
-
Compile and organize assets within the file system for future usage
Purpose
This hybrid role needed a visual designer to develop graphic assets that were used in front-end brand communications, and also maintain internal brand assets and Wiki pages. I also pitched in on a side project for Portal.
PROJECT ONE
Project Aria
For a photoshoot showcasing the Project Aria augmented reality glasses, I Photoshopped the appropriate labeling onto the apparel & accessories. The final image was featured in numerous major media publications.
PROJECT TWO
Internal Wiki
Wikis serve as a portal of information for each team at Facebook, and usually consist of the main page and many sub-pages. I revised and updated Wikis as necessary per any content or design updates that were needed. (Internal use, not shown)
PROJECT THREE
Portal Screensavers
A side project I took part in was to design/format illustrated screensavers for the Portal product line. It was necessary that they were the right dimensions for both vertical and horizontal orientations, and of course that they stayed true to brand guidelines. These screensavers would be specifically for Facebook employees who have a Portal.
Feedback
The team was awesome, as always. I was happy to hear positive feedback.
